The idea for Pearl House Farm began in 2009, when I (Zachary) met my now lovely wife Laura in London, UK.

Love blossomed and we soon moved into a small flat with a balcony together. Here we quickly discovered two things: firstly, we both loved the outdoors, and secondly, we had a mutual interest for animals and growing things in the dirt.

And this is were Laura started her first blog about growing vegetables in small spaces and pots, called ‘The Little Balcony’…

…and where I found my passion for all things green!

For many years we both worked full time jobs within the Film Post-Production Industry, so it was a big surprise to many of our family and friends when we decided to move back to our home town of Manchester, UK. While living there we got married, bought a dog, our English Springer Spaniel Winter, and had two little ones.

Our move helped us to develop our love for the outdoors, as we were closer to the countryside. So, we setup a large vegetable patch in our back garden, were we begun to grow vegetables, fruits and experiment with several Chilli varieties. The first farm animals that joined us here were our chickens, with bees hives arriving later on.

Our main goal was to combine our love of growing with the kitchen, as all produce grown within the garden was used to make jams, jellies and must more.

Then came our biggest and bravest move ever, we decided to pack up our family of four, plus Winter and travel 3000 miles to Nova Scotia, Canada.

For the past two years, our family has been living on a 36 acre farm. We currently have chickens, as well as a herd of meat goats, which are now born and bred on the farm and Willow our barn cat, joined the family last year.

Our biggest achievement has been the development and creation of our infused honey business, which uses local raw honey, mixed with natural dried ingredients to make our signature flavours Lavender, Mint, Cinnamon, Chilli and Chocolate
